What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, is a painless, non-surgical procedure that is effective in reducing the signs of aging. Hair-thin acupuncture needles are inserted in specific locations on the face, ears, neck, hands and feet based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The disposable needles are placed in energy channels (or meridians) that either begin or end on the face, or that work to modify the energy flow of a person’s body. Therefore, a certified practitioner of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture knows how to influence the signs of aging on the face while simultaneously treating the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process.

What is the course of treatment?

The course of treatment is between 10-12 sessions, with 1-3 sessions per week for best results. Each individual will respond differently to the treatment depending on his or her condition and lifestyle. Visible results that are more long-lasting appear on or about the seventh session. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results for five to ten years. Each treatment session lasts between 60 to 90 minutes.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture should not be done during pregnancy, during a bout with a cold or flu, during an allergic attack or during an acute herpes outbreak.

Muscular diagnosis

It is important to understand the muscular structure of our face and scalp in order to control our aging process. There are 43 facial muscles that allow us to make many different facial expressions. Unfortunately, many of us do not have the diverse facial expressions to use all the given mules we have.

Skin type diagnosis

Dry

Generally dry overall, fine wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.
Rough(Unsmooth) surface when touched.
Dryness gets worse during winter. (more flaky)
Feels dry and tight soon after applying normal moisturizer.

Dull face without the glow and foundation do not set on the skin.

Normal

Even skin tone, generally soft and smooth.
Good circulation on the skin, no tightening of a face.
